Such Wonderful Days Off!

Monday October 17th and Tuesday October 18th 2016

Thoth and I had a really nice day off today! I got up around 10am and we immediately headed to Chelsea Market for a sushi lunch! It was a beautiful day! We were talking about Kalan, who we hung out with on Sunday, and how easy it is to judge people people don’t  know. We had sushi then took the train to 14th Street and went shopping for various things. It was really fun to splurge. Splurging occasionally is good. We went to the halloween store to get Thoth some bunny rabbit ears. We got a few other things at other stores then got some Vivi bubble tea before taking the train home. I redyed my hair for a few hours and then went out to see Kalan do some weird shit at the Lorimer L train stop. I was hungry, so I only stayed a little and went home to get some food. I sat in downstairs and talked to the housemates. One of them looked up our documentary and Thoth’s and went to his room to watch both. 🙂

On Tuesday I stayed home all day, only venturing out to get food. It was another beautiful day. I spent the day editing and posting vlogs/blogs and redying my hair. It turned out great. I’m feeling great and looking forward to prayforming this week. photo-on-10-18-16-at-8-32-pm-2

We Were Recognized Twice on Our Days Off!

Tuesday September 6th 2016
I woke on my own at 8:30am. We got out of the house and to the computer repair shop on 23rd St.. They said it would cost a lot to fix, so I decided to buy a new one. We bought a hard drive so they could transfer all my data for me. We walked to Chelsea Market. On the way a man hung out of a taxi and said, “Thoth, I love you man!” I love when that happens. Thoth deserves some recognition! We got lobster rolls and then Thoth asked if I’d like to have sushi. Even though I knew it’d be expensive, I said yes absolutely.
The bar was open at noon, so we waited 15 minutes and were the first to be seated. I got a chirashi bowl. It was so delicious I was crying! The pieces were so thick and creamy. The rice was so soft and buttery tasting. Oh my goodness me. I love me some good sushi. It’s my vice. “Why are you spoiling me?” I asked Thoth. “Because you lost a friend today, your little computer.” he said. “You’re not spoiled. We work hard.” he said. I love when he spoils me. I don’t feel guilty about it in the least.
We went into the subway to go home and a man came up to us. “Are you still playing at the tunnel?” he asked. “Yes. Only in the Fall.” we said. “I haven’t seen you there in a while,” he said. “I thought they’d chased you away.” Well they kind of did, but not in the way he’s thinking. It was time to start traveling. I ordered a computer on Ebay. It would arrived by Friday, hopefully.
I decided to go back out around 5pm to buy a Bose speaker for us. We had been planning to buy one when we got back to NYC. I got a call from the computer shop who said my backed up hard drive was ready to pick up. I went back to 23rd Street, got the speaker and picked up my hard drive. We got a lot done today.
The phone rang the moment I put the keys in the door to the apartment. It was Meli’s number, but I knew it was Thoth. He was terribly worried about me. I’d been gone for 2 hours. He’s so cute. We both get worried about each other. So sweet. I had the rest of my lobster roll and we went to get deli sandwiches for dinner.

Monday September 5th 2016
My computer turned on in the morning, but when I closed it again it wouldn’t turn on. It was well and truly dead. Ah well. Time for a new computer. We left the house at 3pm and had lunch at Toast. It wasn’t the best meal. Not as good as we remembered it. They got Thoth’s order wrong, too. We hadn’t been there in three years.
I called mom to say hello and tell her what’s going on in our lives. I gave the phone to Thoth so he could say hello, too. It’s a damn miracle they can talk to each other now. It’s taken so long. I’m so proud of us. I can’t really believe this is my life.
Stopped at 34th St and went home. My computer still wouldn’t turn on. Thoth found a place online where I could maybe get it fixed. I spent the night trying to get it to turn on again. No such luck!

This Week, With Vlogs, In Order

Monday May 30th and Tuesday May 31st were weird days off last week because we were preparing to move to a new place. We had a nice time anyway. We’d finally gotten our finances together to have a nice day off. Lunch in the park on Monday, and sushi dinner on Tuesday. Yummy!

On Wednesday June 1st, we were moved to a new place, just down the street from where we were living before. I had been discouraged about vlogging, but a fan wrote with some encouragement and I made a vlog for my channel. We were incredibly tired by the time we went to play at Rua Garrett and it was a slow night. We dropped our stuff at home and had thin crust pizza for dinner. That was nice.

On Thursday June 2nd we played and were treated to dinner at Food Temple. It was slow again at the spot. Having a lovely dinner with cool people was helpful. By slow, I mean people didn’t come into the space and sit down. The crowd would disperse after every song and we had to build one up again. It’s tiring and energy depleting after 2 hours.

Friday June 3rd was another slow night, but it finally picked up at the end. The was a music festival happening at the end of the street, which delayed us over an hour from playing. A man came and sat down and led the applause at the end. His name was Victor and he absolutely loved us. —>

On Saturday June 4th we had a great prayformance AND a lovely surprise lunch at Miss Jappa. (We just stumbled upon the place while looking for a vegetarian place near by.) It was so much fun. The best day we’d had since we got here. Victor came again to see us prayform, this time with his two little dogs, which I held before we played. We got a lot of compliments and had big crowds all night and people sat down and stayed a long time. —>

On Sunday June 5th we had a pretty great night, but not as good as Saturday night. Victor came again and made the night wonderful by staying the whole time and clapping. After playing we ran down to Miss Jappa for a sushi dinner. I even managed to make another vlog for my channel. —>

We didn’t sleep because we were being bitten so much by mosquitos. On Monday June 6th we went out to find mosquito repellent (which we couldn’t find at first.) I was in a bad mood. We were stopped in the street and interviewed by Time Out Lisbon. Surprising. We found what we were looking for to repel mosquitos at the grocery near Tease. I was so relieved. We had lunch and sat in the park eating cupcakes. Later we had dinner at the Indian restaurant. Thoth got sick because they put too much alcohol in his drink without his knowledge. We didn’t go to sleep until 2am when he finally started feeling better. —>

Now that’s I’m all caught up, it’s back to the grind. I work so hard on these vlogs. Does anyone have suggestions of what they want to see in the future?
