Tuesday May 17th – Thursday May 19th 2016
I didn’t sleep at all. I never sleep before a day I know is going to be tough. We had to get up at 5am. Sis was sleeping upstairs, but I didn’t want to wake her.
We got an Uber to SFO. We had to pay extra because Thoth’s bag was overweight. We went through security and got to our gate in plenty of time. The flight boarded on time, but we had to get off and were delayed 3 hours because of a technical problem. We were scared we would miss our flight from Boston to Lisbon.
When we landed in Boston at 9pm, someone met us (and 12 other passengers) at the gate and led us to our flight. We barely made it. We had to fly 4 hours, land on an island to refuel, and then fly another 2 hours to Lisbon. We were in the air for 10 hours. It was horrible, as flying always is.
At the end both Thoth and I started panicking. It sucks to be stuck in a position where you aren’t comfortable, can’t move and can’t sleep. We made it to Lisbon at 12 noon on May 18th.
We got to the apartment in Chiado and Rui was waiting for us. He brought our bags upstairs and we settled into our room. I was so tired I could barely keep my eyes open, but we got some things at the Chinese store and went to see Victor at our performance spot, 56 Rua Garrett. He and the manager (I don’t know his name) welcomed us back and said we were welcome to play. That cheered us up.
We got some raspberries and strawberries at a fruit cart on the street and rested at home before dinner. We had dinner at our favorite Nepalese place down the street and I fell into bed at 10pm.
I slept until 3:30 today. We feel at home here. Tomorrow (Friday May 20th) we play at 56 58 60 Rua Garrett starting around 8pm for one and a half to two hours, depending on how we feel.
Vlogs coming soon…
